Understanding the Experiences of African Americans in Couple Therapy

The purpose of this study is to understand the subjective experiences of African Americans who have engaged in couple therapy with a licensed mental health practitioner.

This study has been approved by Michigan State University's (MSU) institutional review board (IRB) of the Human Research Protection Program. The IRB was established to review proposed human subject research. At MSU, all human subject research (regardless of funding) must be reviewed and approved by an IRB before initiation.

Hi there and thank you for your interest! My name is Travis Johnson and I am recruiting for a study on African Americans. I would like to shed light on the experiences of African Americans in couple therapy. This is a contemporary topic exploring the meaning and helpfulness of couple therapy for this particular population.
